140 Library Showcase

Client | 140 Perth

Location | 140 William St, Perth

Taking place in 140 Perth’s Postal Place, 140 Library was WA’s most Instagrammable hangout of 2019. The library was a month-long activation spanning June, and encouraged Perth city workers and passers-by to take some time out from the hustle and bustle of the city and sit back, relax and unwind with a paperback book.

Featuring blush and mint plush furnishings (THE colours of the season!), wallpapered desks, a mirrored backdrop and plenty of books ranging in genre, 140 Library took a step back in time to persuade the people of Perth off their phones and into their own imagination and creativity.

A free community book exchange was the highlight of the library, where people were inspired to take a book home to read, keep and share and in return, bring and leave a pre-loved book of their own to share with someone else. All books were donated to Starick Womens Shelter and Parkerville Children’s Charity after the activation concluded.

Weekly giveaways saw 140 Perth vendors offering free lunchtime snacks for city workers, whilst local authors, charities and the general public were prompted to use the space for meetings, photoshoots, lunches and book launches.

Dr. Katherine Iscoe launched her new ‘Body Confidence’ book at a free ticketed event within 140 Library alongside Bachelor star and Indigenous mental health advocate Brooke Blurton, who spoke to the crowd about inner confidence and making positive changes.

140 Library was an epic celebration of paperback books, reading and writing. Check out the #140Library hashtag to see what Perth has been posting about it.
