A breathtaking placement on the Bellevue staircase, artwork by Julianne Wade, Maali on the Derbal Yerrigan, featured as an entry statement to the AIATSIS Gala Dinner.
Upstairs, singer Boox Kid serenaded guests below 18 metres of projection mapped artwork, Six Seasons by Yondee Shane Hansen, matched with seven metres of custom designed photo wall, dripping in native blooms.
Doors opened and 1200 guests flocked to the ballroom which transitioned through each of the Six Seasons artwork panels throughout the night, signifying the changing of the Noongar seasons.
Tables adorned with custom vases displaying Hansen’s artwork, overflowed with florals in matching tones. Each place setting featured a gourmet Margaret River Chocolate Factory treat, complementing the bespoke three-course menu showcasing Western Australian produce.
MC Narelda Jacobs OAM opened formalities following a Welcome to Country by Geri Hayden, and cultural dances by Midn Marr Dreaming.
DJ Jamilla laid down the beats during breaks as guests relaxed in the Dreamtime Lounge.
Our highlight belongs to Boox Kid with a moving rendition of Gina Williams’ song 'Noonang Koort Warra, accompanied by a backlit sand artist depicting the story to the haunting Noongar lyrics.
X-Factor winner Isaiah Firebrace crowded the dance floor with his dynamic set, with local band Broken Tides keeping the moves going until the lights came on.
