Piccadilly Arcade Reopening Launch
Client | CBRE for Piccadilly Arcade
Location | Piccadilly Arcade, Perth City
While the tradies busily added finishing touches to the newly renovated arcade, our events team also had the arcade under ‘construction’ to prepare for the re-launch of one of Perth’s most iconic precincts, Piccadilly Arcade.
Vacant shop windows were adorned with custom art deco inspired artwork by local artist Pippa.G and windows danced with illustrations brought to life on your smart phone with Augmented Reality.
The ideal workshop space featured wooden tables and bench seats, set under luminous festoons complete with an intricate feature wall covered in emerald wallpaper.
A few doors down, we produced a 1920’s inspired insta-vignette where a velvet black and gold lounge took centre stage amid teal and gold art deco walls and checkered monochrome flooring. Elegantly submerged in blue, white and gold florals from floor to ceiling, cascading over the lounges arms, the perfect spot for a pic with friends was ready!
In November 2021, the transformed mall opened to the public. Special guests celebrated the iconic moment at a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Gathered under the Murray street trees VIPs were Welcomed to Country by elder, Robyn Collard. CBRE and Piccadilly Arcade representative, Lee Lawler, spoke a few words before passing the mic to The Lord Mayor, Basil Zempilas, who enthusiastically spoke about the importance of Piccadilly Arcade to the CBD and memories he had as a young boy, working in the arcade.
With a giant snip of gold scissors, the ribbon floated into two as guests wandered through the arcade with light canapés and bubbles in hand. Lisa Woodbrook serenaded the crowd, her jazzy melodies carrying from Hay Street to Murray.
To launch the spaces to the general community we invited ten socially influential guests into the workshop space to take part in an intimate creative workshop with Little Paint Co. Bubbles flowed as guests painted their ceramic footed bowls and nibbled on mouth-watering bruschetta by Stack’d Kitchen. A surprise visit by Drag Queen, Dean Misdale stunned the crowd as they critiqued guests’ artwork, mingled and of course got the group up for snaps in the insta-vignette.
The launch ended with two weeks of ticketed creative workshops from Paint Your Inner (Drag) Queen with Cabernet & Canvas, Clay Christmas Decoration Making with Little Paint Co, Floral Christmas Wreath Making with I’d Rather Wear Roses, Life Drawing with Charcoal and Champagne and Watercolour Mystical Bugs with Open Hands Creative.
