Stepping Out of the Shadows Thank You Event

Conversation about depression and suicide was sparked at the Stepping Out of the Shadows Thank You event. An important cause, close to Known Associates’ heart, guests were invited into a warm, safe atmosphere to shine light on the topic and encourage others to step out of the shadows.
Guests entered the State Treasury Building via VIP lane’s luxurious red carpet into the majestic Postal Hall; greeted by a welcome sign beautifully styled by Fox and Rabbit. Ali Bodycoat serenaded the room with her soaring jazz vocals, while guests indulged in Edgecombe Brothers wines, Taittinger Champagne and nourishing rok Kombucha and Refresh Juice (it can’t get better than that!). While sipping on the finest beverages, guests sated their palates in delectable canapés; and let’s just say, no one could get enough of the Goats curd pumpkin tartlet and the Scallop ceviche… Well I know I couldn’t!
Opposite the bar were the exquisite art works donated by Shannon Hamilton, Sally Mundy, Kylie Porter and more for the silent auction. As the gallery photos show, guests (and the KAE team) could not divert their eyes from the beautiful pieces.
It was time to get serious when MC, Mark Gibson introduced Philanthropist Ros Worthington OAM on stage. She invited those families who have stepped out of the shadows to join her, and together they encouraged the room, and society, to remove the stigma surrounding depression and suicide, shedding light on the importance of simply talking about it.
As the night was coming to an end, hearts were full and warmed by the bravery conveyed by Ros and the families who “stepped out”. The Known Associates team was honoured to create a sophisticated event for an important cause, to help provide Lifeline WA with a lifeline of its own.
